Double-vision, not Twice as Good.
In terms of productivity, is double-vision desirable? No. And I don't get twice as much at each meal, either.
Unfortunately, the recent onset of double-vision will keep me from walking to Point Reyes from Sacramento this spring. Instead, the 150-mile adventure set to start this Thursday; is rescheduled to the fall but not canceled. The initial blow has passed. As tests continue, I adjust my timetables to deal with a few limitations, including a sporty black eye patch to go pirate mode when I get tired of closing one eye.
Luckily, my work vision is fine, and I have no other symptoms. The change gives me more time to support stewardship on our route. Meanwhile, I have a team of talented doctors and a hopeful mindset. Any hand dealt will guarantee adventure!
As for Gypsy and Oso, they don't know the difference in our plans but are happy I continue walking, though close to home for now.
