Drawing Out My Blog

I capture big and small adventures through illustrations and infographics.

In addition to my client posts, you'll find a collection of notes and drawings from an illustrator experiencing human space. I love being outside and continually find sharable encounters from the natural world. I believe we can all be like astronauts floating around familiar and remote places, rediscovering the simple wonders of the outdoors.

A fitting style

I appreciate the opportunities artificial intelligence brings to marketing and messaging. I use AI. However, I intend to cultivate an illustration and design style unavailable from the bots and code. It is a novel technique that highlights personal perspectives basted in human experience, and it is an excellent match for sports and recreation products and stewardship non-profits.

Infographics created in this style are approachable, reliable, and persuasive. They emphasize key points, deliver visual impact, and wrap the information in a warm storytelling presentation.

And there are more advantages to drawn images for your social posts, blog, testimonials, and website:

  1. Anything can happen in an illustration. Would an elephant perched on top of a cupcake convey your point? Done.

  2. Illustration is a time machine. You can recreate any episode, event, or interaction.

  3. Illustrations provide the viewer with the ultimate camera angles. The audience can see an event from any perspective that best supports your story.

  4. Adding captions, quote bubbles, and bullet points can spell out your messages while sweetening the image.

My toolbox.

After spending a lifetime working with traditional art tools, I've simplified my toolbox to a mighty mix: An Apple iPad Pro, an Apple Pencil, and Adobe Fresco, which I use to create my type and illustrations.
