Monthly Recharge: Backpacking to Bat Rays.

At least once a month, year around, I bite off a little adventure. It doesn't have to be scary, but it must connect me to nature and the world I support.

About this video post:

  • Telling a story can be done in many ways. This video uses a simple whiteboard software platform. That makes it economical and shortens the production time frame.

  • The two illustration styles, handwritten messages and a watercolor palette, strike a warm feeling, similar to a field journal.

  • Two ambient music tracks separate the introduction from the detailed middle portion. The first music track returns as the journey conclude.

  • The illustrations are rendered in Procreate (drawing application) on an iPad with an Apple Pencil.

  • The voiceover, well, that's me. I use a basic but professional mic, a quiet room, and Descript, an innovative audio editing application.
